Outreach Certification

One of StreetWorks primary roles is to provide training and technical assistance to Outreach Workers and member agencies in the Twin Cities metro area.

Through a grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services Office of Economic Opportunity (Safe Harbor funding), StreetWorks has recently redesigned our training process, and in July 2017, published the new StreetWorks Outreach Worker Certification Training Curriculum.

This certification process ensures that outreach workers are consistently and effectively trained in best practices in working with young people, with a concentrated focus on at-risk and sexually exploited youth. StreetWorks is piloting this curriculum in the metro area in 2017, with a plan to develop additional resources and trainings for greater Minnesota in 2018/19.

PATH TO CERTIFICATION

The StreetWorks Outreach Worker Certification Training Curriculum is designed to bring trainees through 5 interactive and experiential stages of learning and development.
