Meet Our Trainers

Alex Minnaert (any pronouns) is the StreetWorks’ Senior Training Manager. Alex started their journey in youth work as a volunteer answering crisis calls at The Bridge for Youth. In 2018, they joined the StreetWorks Collaborative as an Outreach Worker (OW) for The Link. Since then, they have worked as a StreetWorks OW for The Bridge for Youth and LSS Safe House. In their time with StreetWorks, Alex has provided outreach in Hennepin, Ramsey, Dakota, Carver, Scott and Washington Counties. They have a bachelor’s degree in Community Psychology from St Cloud State.

Zarra (he/him/she/her) is StreetWorks’ Opioid Safety Project Coordinator and leads the OOPR trainings. Before joining StreetWorks, he worked as an outreach worker, community health advocate, venue supervisor, sexual health educator, and CPR trainer. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art and English and is a nationally certified EMT.

James Scott (he/him) is the StreetWorks Statewide Training Coordinator. He first joined StreetWorks as an outreach case manager with Hope Street in South Minneapolis. Before becoming a StreetWorks OW, James was manager of the shelter, transitional living, and outreach programs at Hope Street. He also worked for several years in HCMC’s Inpatient Psychology Department.
